UK Deposition Data

3-year average deposition data

Vegetation-specific 3-year average deposition data for nitrogen and sulphur from 2004 to 2013 can be downloaded using the menu below. Data for two vegetation types are provided - forest/woodland and moorland/short vegetation. To compare with critical loads for a particular habitat you should use the correct vegetation-specific deposition. Data are based on a resolution of 5 km2 and downloaded files can be opened in Microsoft Excel or any other text-editing package.

Deposition data are produced using the CBED model (Concentration Based Estimated Deposition). There has been a an important methodological change in the modelling which has been applied to the data from 2004 onwards, which means these data are not comparable with previously published data for those years. Pollutant data for single years (grid average values)

Pollutant data for individual years for the UK can be downloaded by using the drop-down menu below. The data are based on a resolution of 5 km2 and downloaded files can be opened in Microsoft Excel or any other text-editing package.

Please note that these are single year values and shouldn't be used to compare with critical loads; they are not vegetation-specific and are based on a grid-average of multiple land classes.
